Major groomer breakdown!!! In February, on the way to the Big D Shelter, the Snowcat had a major breakdown that stopped it dead in it s tracks. Because it was in a remote location getting it back to the shop was not possible. This meant a field fix. With the help of a few volunteers and a mechanic from M and M Equipment we got it moving enough to get it back to the shop for final repairs. The part was going to be $4,500 and shipped from Germany, yikes! M and M came through and found the part at a Snowcat Salvage in Kelowna B.C. for $2,500. We got it and put it in within a week. IT's FIXED!!! Overall the breakdown cost the club just under $5,000 which we were not planning on. We have a reserve that covers unexpected cost but that makes this next year tricky as we need our reserve back to make sure we can operate safely.
